The MythWits talk to Gina Mazzuca about Global Climate Change.
Gina is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland where she is studying atmospheric science and atmospheric chemistry. She received her M.S. in 2016 from the University of Maryland in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science and her B.S. in 2013 from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in Meteorology with a minor in physics/heliophysics.
She had spent the majority of her undergraduate and early graduate career participating in a NASA field campaign where she traveled all around the country deploying weather balloons and making meteorological and chemical air quality measurements. She was also able to fly an instrument on NASA’s P-3B aircraft during this campaign. Her main focus of research is modeling and analyzing the influence that thunderstorms have on air quality and surface pollutants.
During Fall 2016, she took some time off of her studies to intern at the White House with the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in the department of Environment and Energy.
